SMOKE FREE CAMPUS - POLICY # 1611

Smoking is not permitted on the premises at any time by anyone.

The Board of Education recognizes that smoking represents a health and safety hazard which can have serious consequences for the smoker and for the non-smoker alike. The Surgeon General has repeatedly warned against the hazards of second hand smoke to non-smokers and further states that tobacco is a gateway drug that may encourage subsequent illegal drug use by young people. Thus, the Board of Education sees the use of tobacco as a serious safety issue and believes it has an obligation to protect students, staff, employees, visitors, and guests of the district from an environmental hazard which maybe harmful to them.

It is herby declared that all buildings, grounds, and vehicles of the district are to SMOKE FREE.

For the purpose of this policy, smoking will mean all uses of tobacco including cigars, cigarettes, pipes and smokeless tobacco items.

As a club we have the privilege to play at Ridgewood Middle School with is part of the Fox C-6 School District therefore we must follow their policies and rules. Ridgewood Middle School asks nothing from our club for the use of there fields which in return keeps our club dues low. Being a pay to play sport this is important to keep the sport alive in our community. We ask that our members to respect these policies as well as our own adopted No Tolerance Agreement which includes the above stated policies. A friendly reminder the No Tolerance Agreement is signed by each parent, player, board member and coach
