A Short History of Lacrosse

Lacrosse is actually considered to be the oldest sport in North America.  It was first played by Indians in the 15th Century.

The sport was played for recreation and to help solve disputes among tribes. Sometimes, as many as 1,000 tribesmen would participate in an game that would last 2-3 days.

The field of play (pitch) was usually limitless, with no out of bounds. And goals could be up to several MILES apart!

It was made and still serves as the Official Sport of Canada and is played World-Wide.

The game of Lacrosse is known as the "Fastest Game on Two Feet" and gained NCAA recognition in 1971.

One interesting fact about the sport is that NFL Hall of Famer, Jim Brown, preferred Lacrosse to Football!
